oops I did it again..

tadaaaa… so what’s new?? I got caught up in the whirlwind of life and forgot to blog for the past 3 months..

it’s really difficult to open the laptop when Nardyne’s around.. because she wants to watch Barney on my laptop.. she already tore off the Enter and Ctrl keys off the keyboard..

in a nutshell
- i have sat for 2 more exams; one with not much problems, then other with lots of drama. The gist of the drama: we were told exam format is answer ONE question out of THREE, come exam time the instruction was answer TWO questions out of THREE..

- i spoke at a seminar for 45mins in front of about 20 people who are from the Learning & Development industry, i had nightmares just preparing for it.. but it was not too bad at the end hahaha

- i have been working for two days every week for the past 3 weeks.. why??
week 18 – i had a cooking accident in the kitchen, 2 days MC + Labour Day
week 19 – Nardyne caught the flu bug with high fever, 2 days childcare leave + 1 day annual leave
week 20 – I caught the flu bug with fever, 2 days MC + Vesak Day
No wonder my boss is wondering where have I been and how come I haven’t got any work done..

- I got class tonight and exam in 3 Saturdays’ time.. too much to read, too little time.. *sigh*

come undone..

I succumbed to fatigue yesterday.. I couldn’t bring myself to go to work though i was almost ready to go to work.. and my allergies were beginning to act up too.. i was so tired that I went back to sleep at 8.30am and woke up to have breakfast at 11am. I slept with Nardyne for 1hr in the afternoon too.. it was good weather to sleep in, it has been raining since Wednesday and only stopped yesterday afternoon.. but now it looks like it’s going to rain again..

main contributing factor for fatigue is the intensive lecture I had last week.. 7pm to 10pm on weeknights, 1.30pm to 5.30pm on Saturday, 10am to 5pm on Sunday was no joke for my system. I don’t get enough rest and I am missing Nardyne.. I felt SO HAPPY to see her at the end of Sunday lecture, waiting with her daddi at the atrium, it was a great feeling to see her walking quickly to me.. i should have taken leave on Monday to rest but it just didnt occur to me..

I have not been coming home straight from office this week either, we went to look for a new microwave machine on Monday, i had tutorial on Tuesday, I had a team dinner on Wednesday.. which all accumulates and contributes to my fatigue.. which also explains why i was so drowsy in the afternoons for the past few days..

anyway team dinner at Villa Bali was great. Julie and I arrived first and we were so hungry that we ordered drinks and chicken satay while waiting for the rest.. then Rob and Corrine arrived and we ordered another round of drinks and more appetizers while waiting for the rest.. then the rest arrived, together with Gerard who is visiting us until Saturday, and we ordered dinner of phad thai, pineapple rice,  tom yum soup, calamari and chicken and another round of drinks.. i think i ate too much and drank too much but the company was great, the food was great, the atmosphere at Villa Bali was great that I would like to go there again some time..

fever, running nose and phlegm on her 1st birthday..

she started having fever 2 weeks ago, on the last day of tutorial.. mama called me at work and said that twice she woke up from her sleep crying, apparently she was woken up by the loud sound of motorbike accelerating from the traffic light.. and that evening she was having fever..

we medicated her with panadol but it doesn’t seem to subside.. we cancelled an outing for her birthday because she was still feverish and bought KFC home instead.. i woke up in the middle of the night and she was hot, 39.7C.. i compressed her, syringed some panadol into her mouth and waited for the temperature to come down.. it was difficult because at the same time, I’m nursing my swollen gums and cheeks and it hurts everytime she accidentally hits me there..

there were times where she kept on tossing and turning that i gave my space on the bed to her and slept at  the edge of the bed.. then there were times she woke up and wont go back to sleep so mammi and daddi have to get up and play with her until she goes back to sleep.. it’s usually about 2 hours and usually from 3am to 5am..

well at least she’s not clingy or whiny when she’s sick.. only when she’s tired, then she starts thrashing around when you carry her.. she’s much better now but still with a bit of running nose..
