with the free wi-fi available in the Hotel Cezanne, I should have posted at least something when I’m in France but I was out of the hotel most of the time.. and the minute i get back, all i want to do was wash up and go to sleep.. and when I wake up, I logged in to Class 95 and listen to Vernetta while getting ready for the day..
the trip was okay, minus wednesday & thursday when i got so homesick that i just wanted to home there and then.. it’s no kidding when it comes to expenses there, everything is much more expensive than in Singapore sans wine, of course.. dinner was always a long affair and getting back to the hotel at 11pm was normal.. and charging an average of 40E for each dinner was also normal, it’s like I’m paying for 2 at the Straits Kitchen or something like that,
this time I managed to be a tourist too. With Julie as our guide, I went to see smaller towns and see their castles and villages. Andrew brought me round the port of Marseille and the trip to Monaco with Florence was interesting and tiring. The whole country is on a cliff facing the sea so you’ll need to walk up slopes and stairs to get to places, I think my heart almost stopped after climbing a few flights of stairs to get to the palace, but the country was beautiful and I think I had seen my lifetime share of Ferraris in all possible colours, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Bentleys, etc, etc..
I brought home at least 10kg of chocolates, most of them are Rocher Suchard. It’s great to be home..
