mimi/mi – mammi
milk/drink – when she’s thirsty
mamam – when she’s hungry
babam – to lie down
bar – for Barney
tb – for the tv
bibi – for baby
hi, hello, bah-bai – greetings
dah – when something’s finished or done
Allah – when she hears the azan or sees someone doing their prayers
mouse – for Mickey mouse plush
turtle – for the turtle plush
down – to get down from the bed and I will always tell her ‘Feet first’ so that she goes down safely by herself
up – for her to stand up or when she wants to be carried
knock knock – she knocks on our room door
hug, kiss, salam & cium - but not necessarily she does the action
dum, tak, tis – sounds of the drum, it goes, “dum tak, dum tak tak, dum tak tak tis”
stretch – put hands over her head and stretch
on – when the ac is switched on
nice/good – she puts up her first finger instead of thumb
wow, cat (Rey & Kiki are the 2 cats that she knows), bird, fish, nose, book, light, key, open, close, no, one, five, smile,

monkey, lion, drum, balloon, daddi’s car, bus, butterfly, walk, “look for nyai/atok”, “wake daddi up”, “mandi mandi mandi” for bathtime, “change” and “cebok” when it’s time to change diaper, brush teeth, “jump” but she’s only doing half-squats and shaking her butt in the standby position

i bought her a deck of flash cards when she was a few months old and now everyday she plays with it and I know mama shows her the pictures on the flash cards and tells her the words.. like the other day she had her flash cards spread on the carpet and I said to her, “Nardyne, mammi wants the cat.” She looked around and picked up the ‘Cat’ card and gave it to me. “Mammi wants the fish” and she gave me the fish. “Mammi wants the balloon” and she gave me the balloon. After that she was not focused on my requests and was giving me everything. About ten minutes later, I asked for a few more cards and she gave the correct ones to me.
the other day I heard her singing something but i couldn’t recognize the song until mama told me it’s the opening jingle for a show on Jim Jam, Igloo Gloo.. it goes like, “igloo gloo.. na na na na na na” but she sticks her tongue out and flaps it up and down during the ‘na na na’ part..
she loves songs, when I sing for her ‘Mr Sun’, she’ll go ‘Un, Un’ for the part “Oh Mr Sun, Sun, Mr Golden Sun”.. and she shakes to the opening tunes and theme songs of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dibo the Gift Dragon, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, Higglytown Heroes.. she watches too much Barney on tv, on vcd..
she’s beginning to throw tantrums when she don’t get what she wants by pulling things down to the floor and says,” dah dah dahhhhhhhhh”..
