just going with the flow…

i don’t know why, but i’m just not too looking forward to raya like i used to when i was younger.. this year i’m more like following the flow rather than setting the pace..

buy baju, buy curtains, buy carpet, buy kuih2, change for smaller notes, cleaning the room, getting the house ready etc etc etc.. i’m just getting them because they are the usual things to do.. maybe if not for the normalcy of it, i might not even make any preparations for it..

maybe the events leading to the Ramadan and the events happening in Ramadan itself impacts my enthusiasm for Syawal.. i feel jaded..

she got up for sahur..

this morning was the first time she was up for sahur, she was awake since 4am.. she was quiet though, didnt cry or made any noise so i tried to pat her back to sleep.. i thought she was sleep but when my alarm rang at 4.30am, she looked at me and said,”Ma”. oh oh..

since she was quiet, i left her with Dino and went out to help Mama set the table.. the second i opened the bedroom door at 4.55am to wake Dino up, she sat up and pointing both her fingers at me and started jabbering.. sounds like she’s scolding me though hehe.. but that’s how she communicates..

so i had no choice but to carry her out, strap her in her Jane high chair and gave her a bit of ball cakes and water while we eat our sahur.. luckily she was easily persuaded to go back to sleep after that, just turn off the lights, switch on the AC and be really quiet.. I managed to get about an hour’s sleep before getting up to get ready for work..

i’m going to Geylang for round 3 tonight after class hehe..

first to Bata, then to school..

i am officially back to school on a part-time basis at SIM.. the first module is quantitative methods, it’s all Maths and numbers, lecture started on Monday, and will go on every day til Sunday evening.. so far it’s nothing new, mostly revision of things that i’ve learnt back in secondary school and forgotten about them..

by the time I get back home, Nardyne was already sleeping.. I missed her then, but she always wakes up in the middle of the night, stands up in her playpen, rubs her eyes, calls me and holds out her arms so that I will carry her over out of her playpen and onto my bed, in between me and Dino, she then pops her thumb into her mouth and goes back to sleep.. she’s so cute.. but I got to start pulling her thumb off her mouth soon.. she’s 11 months today.. we’ll try not to make much noise when we wake up for sahur because we do not want her to wake up too and not go to sleep after.. but it’s great to wake up in the morning with her thumb (you guessed it) in her mouth, eyes wide open looking at you and smiles..

why to Bata? I don’t need school shoes but definitely need to get new shoes for raya heheh..
