only the 4th week…

After coming for classes for 3 consecutive nights, on 4th night you can see the general lethargy in people, everyone was looking forward to the end of class so that they can have that 1 weeknight of break (bonus: class ended early on Thursday). So was I, I was looking forward to coming home after work and play with Nardyne. And what do I get when I reached home?? She was sleeping!!

But it was only a nap, she was soon up and making a ruckus because she didn’t have a nap in the afternoon, her feeding time were mixed up, she pushed you away when you carried her. She has her times of generally good girl behaviour, and times where you wonder where she gets her moods from. Every night, I like to put her down on our bed and she rolls around and play with her daddy on one side, mammi on the other. And when she gets too sleepy, she pops her thumb into her mouth and starts tossing and turning to find her comfortable spot. Once she gets that spot, she’s gone in 5 secs. You’ll know when she’s drifted to sleep. After about 10 mins, I’ll shift her to her crib and reclaim my place on the bed.

There are times when she wakes up in the middle of the night, crying and couldn’t so back to sleep. These are the most trying for me when she doesn’t let me sit down and rock her. And at times she doesn’t want her daddy to rock her. And there are times where you thought she’s asleep, but the minute you put her down in her crib, she’ll wake up and cry. At times like these, Nardyne will sleep beside me and I have to be in between her and Dino.

I have no heart to let her cry for anything, but sometimes I get frustrated because I do not understand what she wants. At these time, I just let her cry for a while for me to recollect my emotions before picking her up again.

We’ve upgraded Nardyne sitting position in the stroller from a lowest (lying down) position to the upright sitting position. And we don’t strap her at 5 points, just 3. And she loves it. She was all excited when we pushed her through Suntec City and Marina Square on Sunday. She was making so much noise that we sometimes just can’t help it but smiled at her enthusiasm. But she’s still getting used to the new car seat. She gets quiet when she’s all strapped down and I have to try very hard to engage her in a conversation with her toys. I have a bit more success if I show her a magazine. Maybe she’s not comfy with the shoulder pads. Need to check with Dino if we can adjust these somehow.

I’m in the middle of my research on BMW for my marketing mini project, but I can’t find anything on the BMW website. So far, Econs is the most colourful course, because I’m using many coloured pens & 2 highlighters to take notes..

It was mama’s birthday last Friday and true to our family tradition, we went out for dinner after my class on Saturday. Since we’ve been to Eatzi for steaks and all, this time we went to The Naked Fish Shoppe at The Grassroot’s Club for fish.

I wasn’t sure what time they open for dinner but the place was empty when we got there at 6pm. I had a whole flounder, to me it tasted like pomfret. Dino had red snapper. Mama & Ayah had barramundi, I have no idea what fish that is but it was okay broiled & grilled. Lina had seafood platter and Hisham, never the fan for fish, had sirloin steak. Overall the atmosphere was nice but the food can be better. But I think the mocktails were very good.

We didn’t stay long. Partly because there were a few events going on and the carpark was crowded. It was a good thing we came early.

But we forgot one thing though, we didnt buy cake for mama this time??!!!!!!!

Sunday trip…

It was one of those weekends where everyone was at home and everyone had no plans. We made an impromtu decision at 9.30am to go out with my parents & sister. Destination: Pasir Ris Park.

We arrived at White Sands Shopping Center close to noon, debating whether should we buy food and eat at the park, or should we eat in the comfort of a/c and just buy finger foods for later. Maybe the a/c’s calling was louder. Then there was the discussion of where to eat. There’s the usual fast food like McD, BK, KFC. Then there’s Cavana and Banquet Signature. We ended up having our lunch at Banquet Signature and buying kueh-kueh and OCK as finger foods for later.

The weather was quite hot and not much breeze. Nardyne fell asleep when we got to the park. Though it wasn’t crowded, finding a spot that wasn’t in the sun was a challenge. We settled down under a tree and started relaxing. It was nice to spend some time by the sea. But it wasn’t for long because the heat was getting to Nardyne and all of us so we got up, packed and head back to the Carens.

Next destination has got to have a/c and the nearest we can think of was Changi Airport. Since my parents have not been to the new T3, we decided to park at T2 so that we can take the Skytrain there. As usual the Changi Airport was crowded with passengers and visitors and Singaporeans who regarded the Airport as one of the places of interest in Singapore.

After marveling at the tiles, carpeting, glass panels of the building, we sat at Earle Swensens’ and the five of us shared a large earthquake while Nardyne napped in her stroller. I’ve always like eating at Earle Swensens’ because of its different menu from the normal Swensens’. I think their menu of grills and pasta were better. And of course a wide variety of salad buffet. And I like the outlet at Vivocity because you can have a sea view from the restaurant.

Once watered and fed, everyone was tired and we head back home. It was a fun outing. Maybe next time we’ll go for a proper picnic with picnic basket and a ball for Nardyne to kick around :o D
